Over 100 turn up for Alpha in the Workplace

Alpha in the Workplace brings the gospel into the workplace in a friendly and non-threatening manner, and accomplishes this within the lunch hour, making it an ideal way to reach colleagues and business associates.

It is no wonder that the Alpha in the Workplace course in the Telok Ayer area is into its twelfth run and attracting more people than ever. The team jointly led by financial planner Peggy Chan and consultant Lawrence Lee were encouraged by the response to the latest run.

Says Peggy, “On the first week, we were expecting about 80 guests, but more than 100 guests showed up. It was a happy situation. The team refrained from eating so that our guests would have enough to eat!”

Some guests came after receiving the flyer on that very day as they were making their way to the hawker centre. Many were accompanied by their colleagues, who had heard about the course and thought it would be an  nteresting way to spend their lunch time.

“I received the flyer and took the opportunity to ask my colleague. She enjoyed the video. It is also my first time on the Alpha Course and I think it is a very non-threatening introduction to the Christian faith,” says underwriting and claims executive Lee Lay Har.

“The facilitators were also very assuring. I think it’s an excellent way to spend your lunchtime!”
