Alpha is run in the Catholic context in thousands of parishes around the world, presenting an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith.

It also serves as a refreshher course for practising Catholics or for those who wish to renew their faith, strengthen it, and have their questions answered.

Alpha courses in Catholic churches are hosted either by the parish priest or a lay member of the parish.
