Invite the Nation to a Meal!

Alpha launches a Nation-wide Invitation on the last week of July 2010.

What is it?

The Alpha Invitation 2010 is a nation-wide call to simply invite our friends and loved ones to a meal on the last week of July.

The meal could be anything from a “yum cha” breakfast, buffet lunch, high tea, barbecue dinner to supper! The idea is to have a relaxed, low-key event to which people can feel comfortable bringing their friends, family, neighbours and colleagues. As they tuck into delicious food amid a relaxed atmosphere, the guests will have the opportunity to hear about the Alpha course and sign up.

Why be a part of this nation-wide Invitation?

• The Alpha Invitation 2010 offers a unique common platform for churches to join together to give everyone an opportunity to hear the good news of Jesus Christ (Matthew 9:10).
• Raise the evangelistic temperature of your congregation, reach new people and, in the process, identify new and emerging leaders for your church.
• Make evangelism do-able for everyone. Everyone in your congregation can play a part --- from preparing the meal to inviting a friend or facilitating a group.
• Gain a sense of synergy and momentum from being part of a concerted national effort! Alpha Singapore will help create awareness through a media campaign. Publicity campaigns raise awareness, which makes it easier to invite someone to Alpha and for them to accept an invitation.
• Team training will be provided, and Alpha advisers will be available to support your effort.

How can I be a part of this?

You may choose to:

• Run an Alpha course (in your church, in the marketplace, in homes, etc)
• Partner with another church to jointly run a course
• Invite your guests to an Alpha course run by a more experienced church (contact us to get in touch with a ‘mentor’ church near you)
• Take part in a marketplace course happening near you.

What? Invite guests to an Alpha Introductory Meal

When?  We recommend having your first meal starting 29, 30 or 31 July.

Where? Anywhere and everywhere! In churches, workplaces, homes, cafes, campuses, buses... the possibilities are endless.

How? 

• During the meal, Have someone share how The Alpha Course has helped them explore the meaning of life. (Contact the Alpha office if you need someone to come and share at your Introductory Meal).
• Play the Alpha Introductory DVD (available in English, Mandarin and other languages) or give a ‘live’ talk (outlines available from the Alpha office)
